Custom-made scapulars are similar to monastic and devotional scapulars. High quality stitching in the USA. Brown scapulars, green scapulars, black, purple, white, red, and more.
Scapulars originated as aprons worn by medieval monks. Later they extended to habits for members of religious organizations. The "monastic scapular" appeared first, perhaps as early as the 7th century in the Order of Saint Benedict. The "devotional scapular" is a much smaller item and evolved from the monastic scapular. Each are very similar but have specific religious details and adornments.
